My Love Affair with Another of Seattle's Funky Little Food Spots

How I love that feeling you get when you discover
a new spot that tickles your senses and inspires
your imagination. That place you want to make
your hang-out, whether it's for a perfect dry cappuccino
in the morning, or a meet-up with your pals for
a drink and scrumptious nibbles.  That's how I
felt when I walked into Capitol Hill's Oddfellows.

My daughter knows me so well.
She and her boyfriend knew exactly what they were doing
when they took me here for brunch last weekend....

Century-old building, big space, high ceilings, brick walls,
light-filled floor-to-ceiling windows, salvaged and repurposed
furniture, surfaces and fixtures.

And the FOOD.

Fresh, warm beignets and jam...
(they'll give any apple fritter a run for its money).

Baked eggs with spinach, and avocado toasts,

 homemade biscuits/eggs/bacon.
Next time I'm coming to try the evening fare.

Or I might just come hang out with my laptop to while away a rainy day.

Aww...and an antique typewriter in the window! : )

Really love this place.  And it sits right next door to
another fave, Elliott Bay Book Co.
I just hate that it lives 800 miles away from me.
